LASH LIFT AND TINT AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Lash Lift and Tint AftercareWouldn’t it be simply amazing to wake up in the morning and see that your lashes were already curled and had a little mascara on them? Well, that’s the magic of Lash Lift and Tint. However, just like any other lash treatments, you need to maintain a good aftercare to make sure your lashes stay curly and beautiful for as long as it should. This lash lift and tint aftercare article will provide you with essential maintenance guidance so that you will get the best out of your lash lift and tint treatmen.t

WHY IS AFTERCARE IMPORTANT FOR YOUR LASH LIFT AND TINT?

Once you have your lash lift and tint done, it is extremely important that you take good care of your lashes so that they stay fabulous as long as possible. Usually lash lift and tint can last you from 6 to 8 weeks under proper maintenance.

Think of your lash lift and tint as having a hair perm procedure. After treatment, you must continue looking after your hair at home to maintain their gorgeous look. In line with this, you also need to take care of your lashes after a lash lift and tint to maintain the beautiful curl.

Following the correct home aftercare for your lashes will ensure  your lashes always look curly and fabulous. This also helps keeping the curl there longer (from 6 to 8 weeks), which means that you’ll get the best value for your time and money.

DO’S AND DON’TS OF LASH LIFT AND TINT AFTERCARE

Take extra care of your lashes in the first 24  hours following the procedure to get the best results. How you handle your lashes right after your lash lift will determine how long your lash lift lasts and when you need to make another appointment.

Follow these simple aftercare rules to ensure that your lash lift lasts as long as possible:

Avoid any contact with your eyes or lashes.

This is very important, especially in the first 24 hours post-treatment. As the perm and tint are settling during this time, do not rub, touch, tug or pull your lashes after your lash lift and tint treatment. Doing so will make them lose their colour and picture-perfect curl.
You also risk infecting your eyes as they are pretty sensitive at this time. Simply put, keep your hands and other objects away from your eyes.

Don’t get your lashes wet for 24 hours following treatment.

This is very essential because the lift and tint needs to dry and settle to shape your lashes curl and colour which would take some time. Washing your lashes too soon will cause poor lift and tint retention, causing the colour to fade early and weakening the curly shape. Getting your lashes wet in the first 24 hours may result in your lashes getting straight back early. So, it is best to avoid saunas, cooking on a steamy stovetop, steam baths, facial steamers, swimming and excessive sweating, anything that can get your lashes wet in the first 24 hours. The minor sacrifice will make the process worth it.

No oil on your lashes at all time

You need to avoid getting skincare or makeup products with oil in contact with your lashes at all time. The reason is that oil will dissolve the perm effect on your lashes and cause them to get straight very quickly.

Therefore, water-based cleanser and oil-free skincare/make up are recommended around the eye area.

Try sleeping on your back.

A great way to keep your lash lift in its perfect curly shape is to sleep on your back for the first couple of days. This will help avoid crushing your lashes while you sleep at night accidentally. This is because your lashes are still shaping; applying pressure to them can result in them becoming misshaped.

Clean and brush your lashes daily

We recommend you using a water based, oil free lash shampoo to clean your lashes everyday after the first 24 hours. Keeping your lashes clean will make sure they are healthy and strong.

Use a lash brush which we provided at your appointment to brush your lashes up everyday to ensure they retain their beautiful curl and structure.
Brushing will ensure they do not tangle and look as good as new daily.

Use an oil-free eyelash serum.

Using lash serum is highly recommended for the benefit of your lashes. This keeps your lashes strong, healthy and fluffy. Moreover, it will help your lashes grow longer and thicker, which means your next lash lift and tint will look much more fabulous. Who can resist long and curly lashes anyway?

Using of mascara

Thanks to the lash tint, your lashes will look as black as you are using mascara. Therefore mascara is not needed. However, the tint usually last from 2-4 weeks while the lift last for 6 to 8 weeks. So when you find the tint fade away, you can start using mascara to touch up the colour. Just make sure your mascara are oil-free and not too sticky. Sticky mascara may result in premature fall off of you lashes which is not good for your lashes in overall.
